Just a month after her celebrated Met debut, French mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine stars in this broadcast as the alluring gypsy, opposite tenor Roberto Aronica as Don José, the desperate solider who loses everything in pursuit of Carmen’s love. Maria Agresta is the kind yet determined Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen brings masculine swagger and a dark baritone as the bullfighter Escamillo.
