Deborah Voigt gives a stirring performance in the role of Leonora, her voice effortlessly rising above orchestra and chorus. Tenor Salvatore Licitra is a passionate Alvaro, the man whose impetuous actions result in a lifetime of heartache for everyone. Samuel Ramey sings Padre Guardiano, with Gianandrea Noseda conducting.
