Don Pasquale

It’s one of the oldest stories of all: an old curmudgeon wants to marry a beauty young enough to be his daughter. But no one told it with more verve than Donizetti, and seldom has it been performed as enchantingly as by this cast. The delectable Anna Netrebko is Norina, the “biddable” girl who agrees to a mock marriage with Don Pasquale (Simone Alaimo) in order to teach him a lesson, and clear the way to marry her true love, heartthrob Juan Diego Flórez (Ernesto). Mariusz Kwiecien is Dr. Malatesta who masterminds the whole plot.
