Do I need to stay for the entire reading?
No. You may arrive at any time during the event and come and go as you please.
What is being read?
All 19 chapters of The Autobiography of Malcolm X, as Told to Alex Haley. The foreword and the epilogue will not be included.
Will copies of the book be available?
No. We believe the best experience will be had by treating the event as a performance rather than following along in the text.
Is re-entry allowed?
Yes, audience members will be admitted as often as they like from 6AM–11:45PM.
Will there be seating?
Yes, limited seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Will there be refreshments?
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from 12pm-10pm.
Can I bring in outside food and beverage?
No outside food or drink is allowed.
Can I bring my dog?
No pets are allowed. Service animals are always welcome at the Met.
Is there an age recommendation?
We suggest the reading is most appropriate for audiences aged 14 and older.
Is there a dress code?
