Opera Book Club
The HD Live in Schools virtual Opera Book Club resumes this year, inviting students to join online conversations with authors, experts, and Met artists who have helped bring these stories to both page and stage. This fall, students will focus on George Brant’s play Grounded, the basis for Jeanine Tesori’s new opera with a libretto by the playwright. In the spring, students will turn their attention to Oscar Wilde’s Salome, the source for Richard Strauss’s opera of the same name. The Met Opera Education team works with publishers to provide students and teachers in participating districts with free copies of featured books.
