Marketing Coordinator, Live in HD

Position Summary
The Live in HD Marketing Coordinator will support the Senior Marketing Campaign Manager and is responsible for coordinating all marketing efforts surrounding the Live in HD series. The ideal candidate will be a poised, resourceful, innovative thinker capable of conceiving, developing, and implementing bold new ideas. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a passion for the mission of The Met: Live in HD.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Alongside the Senior Manager, plan and implement marketing campaigns and activities in key markets to support Live in HD, in conjunction with other marketing team members
- Assist the Senior Manager and the Met’s advertising agencies in devising and managing digital and print advertising media plans for Live in HD specific campaigns
- Be the point person between all Live in HD stakeholders (internal staff, external partners globally) to ensure consistent quality of communication and timely information sharing
- Project manage the delivery of all Live in HD assets (trailers, production-specific content, key artwork, social media assets, etc.) to partners to ensure consistency of marketing materials across the program
- Proof materials created by theater partners and coordinate relevant internal approvals
- Spearhead the nationwide HD Ambassador Program, including implementing grassroots ideas, ways to collect audience data, recruitment, and management of Ambassadors
- Brief internal graphics team and oversee the creation of all in-house collateral (posters, postcards, cast sheets, art cards, etc.) as well as HD specific projects for external partners
- Conduct promotional outreach to organizations nationwide to help promote the series and/or specific HD operas
- Track Live in HD marketing expenses to ensure budget projections are correctly met. Assist the Senior Manager in forecasting HD season budgets
- Report on marketing campaigns and sales trends in top markets to internal teams
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years experience in marketing, advertising and/or arts management
- Excellent project management skills
- Interest in the performing arts; knowledge of opera
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with a range of people both in person and by writing/phone
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
- Ability to work well under pressure and on tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Tessitura
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as an individual
- Positive attitude, ambition, creativity, and resourcefulness are necessary to succeed in this position
Physical Demands:
- The Metropolitan Opera is a performance venue that requires employees working in the building to be fully vaccinated. Due to the nature of this role, you must be fully vaccinated at the time your employment is scheduled to start.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear
- Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion and to stand, walk, reach, bend
- Occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Required to work on all HD transmission Saturdays
- Additional nights and other weekend events as necessary
