Mozart
Le Nozze di Figaro
An enduring audience favorite, Mozart’s classic class comedy Le Nozze di Figaro has taken the Met stage more than 500 times—always as a showcase for some of the day’s finest voices. This Saturday matinee radio broadcast from the 2017–18 season is no exception. Celebrated early-music interpreter Harry Bicket leads a sterling cast, which includes bass-baritone Adam Plachetka and soprano Christiane Karg as the title barber-turned-valet, Figaro, and his bride-to-be, Susanna. Bass-baritone Luca Pisaroni and soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen are the embattled Count and Countess Almaviva, with mezzo-soprano Serena Malfi rounding out the principal cast as the wily pageboy Cherubino.
