Mozart
Le Nozze di Figaro
In November 2019, bass-baritone Adam Plachetka starred as Count Almaviva in a high-energy revival of Le Nozze di Figaro. In this radio broadcast, recorded three months later, he returns to the stage, this time as the valet Figaro in Mozart’s classic comedy. His co-stars include soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller as his bride-to-be, Susanna, baritone Etienne Dupuis and soprano Amanda Woodbury as the embattled Count and Countess Almaviva, and mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa as the libidinous pageboy Cherubino. Bass-baritone Maurizio Muraro and mezzo-soprano MaryAnn McCormick round out the cast as Dr. Bartolo and Marcellina, with Cornelius Meister conducting Mozart’s delightful score.
