Mozart’s deeply humane comedy about the clash of cultures features Diana Damrau as Constanze, the steadfast young woman kept prisoner in the harem of Pasha Selim. Matthew Polenzani is her fiancé, Belmonte, who comes to her rescue, much to the irritation of Osmin (Kristinn Sigmundsson), the Pasha’s overseer. Aleksandra Kurzak is Constanze’s feisty maid, Blonde, and Steve Davislim sings her beloved, Pedrillo.
