Don Pasquale

The always-delightful Fernando Corena delivers a tour de force as cranky old Don Pasquale. His nephew and heir Ernesto (Luigi Alva) would rather be disowned than give up the beautiful young widow he loves (a ravishing Roberta Peters as Norina). Pasquale’s friend, Dr. Malatesta (Frank Guarrera) secretly sides with the young lovers and proposes to Pasquale that he marry Malatesta’s own sister. Only the “sister” is Norina in disguise, and she makes Pasquale miserable. Fortunately the marriage is a fake and love triumphs in the end.
